Meeting with Coillte re. Carigfadda Walk

RCAG members meet with Coillte

Members of the Reenascreena Community Action Group met with Richard Delahunty, Forest Manager with Coillte Teoranta this morning to discuss proposals for a permanent public walk at the forestry site on Carigfadda Hill. Mr Delahunty was very receptive to the idea of developing an amenity site for the local community on Carrigfadda, but stressed that Coillte's commercial interests would have to take precedence.

He also pointed out a number of considerations that need to be looked into, including legal obligations, insurance, costs and consultation with local stakeholders. Leaving the meeting with a much clearer idea of the proposals, Mr Delahunty promised to look into the available options and to get in touch with the committee in due course to discuss the matter further.
