    Reenascreena Crossroads Arts Festival 2006

    Wednesday 21 June

    6:30pm, Reenascreena Village -- Completion of the Wishing Tree sculpturs with artist Marie Brett

    Come along and help put the finishing touches to our Reenascreena Community Arts Project.

    7:30pm, Reenascreena Cross – Walk the Reenascreena Trail

    Come and walk the walk while local historian Fachtna O’Callaghan talks the talk, pointing out all sorts of interesting facts, figures and stories along the way. Wear strong footwear and clothing suitable for the weather conditions on the day.

    Friday 23 June

    7:30pm, Reenascreena Community Hall – Talk by Irish Seedsavers Organisation

    Join the Irish Seedsavers Organisation and learn about the fascinating diversity of Ireland’s traditional crop varieties, and how you can do your bit to preserve this unique piece of Irish heritage in your own garden

    Saturday 24 June

    7:00pm, Reenascreena National School
    • Exhibition of children’s art
    • Official unveiling of pottery totem poles in the school grounds

     

    From 7:30pm, Reenascreena Community Hall

    • Traditional Spit-Roast outside the hall
    • Traditional and contemporary music, song, dance and verse around the camp-fires
    • Step-Dancing at the Crossroads
    • Drama with the Reenascreena Dramatic Society
    • Live music ‘til late

     

     

    Sunday 25 June

    From 7:30pm, Reenascreena Community Hall
    • Reenascreena Duck Derby: Catch all the aquatic antics on the stream outside the community hall
    • The Last Post: community presentation to retiring postman Bill Harte and to outgoing postmistress Mary Kingston
    • Folk Singing with the legendary Jimmy Crowley
    • Official unveiling of the Reenascreena Woolen Mills – an artists impression by local artist Sarah Daly
    • Drama: “The Boldest Finnean Man” by Skibbereen Theatre Society
    • A celebration of vocal harmony with ACAPELLABELLA!
    • Live music with Wazoo Inc., The God Fearing Folk and Special Guests until late
