 Sax comes to Reenascreena It was Friday 25th June, and the normally quiet village of Reenascreena was gearing up for a big night. Mark Van Damme and friends were bringing their unique blend of Jazz and Latino Samba music to Reenascreena Cross, and the brand new Reenascreena Drama Group would give its inaugural offering. Expectations were high, and an air of anticipation developed as the crowd slowly gathered. |

 Eying up the competition Will I be in the money, or just out for a duck?
That was the question on everyone's lips on Sunday 26 June as the Reenascreena Duck Derby got underway.
Fowl handlers Maurice Sheehy and Andrew O'Sullivan had to be super
vigilant to stop the 20 yellow plastic ducks making a break for it
before racing began, and did a sterling job of keeping order under
often trying circumstances. The mob of ducks were to race dwnstream in
10 heats before climax of the 10 duck final took place. |

 Reenascreena Stone Circle On Tuesday 22 June a fine crowd of walkers, led by local historian Fachtna O'Callaghan, headed out from Reenascreena on a walk that marked the start of the Reenascreena Crossroads Arts Festival 2005. The group walked to the crossroads known locally as the "Four Crosses" before turning left and heading up to the famous stone circle that gives Reenascreena its name -- "The Ring of the Shrine". |

 Cllr. Paddy Sheehan The Mayor of County Cork, Councillor Paddy Sheehan, was full of praise for the pupils of Scoil Náisiúnta Ré na Scríne last Thursday evening (23/06) when he attended an art exhibition of the children's work in the Reenascreena community hall. Dubbed the h'Art of Reenascreena, the exhibition gave local people a chance to see the impressive results of the school's participation in the Cork County Council sponsored Artist in Residence initiative. |

 Pupils at Reenascreena Stone Circle Scoil Náisiúnta Ré na Scríne will present an exhibition of pupils' art work in Reenascreena Community Hall on Thursday 23rd June 2005. The body of work on display represents the fruit of working with artist Alison Trim, who has been nurturing the children’s artistic vision over the past twelve weeks as part of a Cork County Council sponsored “Artist in Residence” initiative. |
