The Gatekeeper Butterfly was one of the noteable species identified in the biodiversity survey. (Photo by Calvin Jones) The report's author, Environmental Consultant Pascal Sweeney, concludes: "Overall, this route gives the walker the opportunity to appreciate a range of typical Irish rural habitats and species." This survey is invaluable as a baseline, and provides the information we need both to preserve and enhance existing habitats and to produce interesting and informative interpretation material for the walking route.
