Maulathanavalla, Cork, Ireland
My family are from Maulathanavalla, they had a farm there, their name was white(whyte), my Mother is Kitty White (1931)and her Sister was Mary(Keohane)(1930), who recently passed away, they both went to Reenascrena School. There Mother was Norah Cottor of Johnstown, Kilmichaelmacroom, Cork, she was married to Patrick White(Whyte) who passed away in about 1931 and she later married Patrick Coakley and they had more children, Patrick, Michael, Nancy etc... Norah siblings were Kit, Molly etc and Molly married John Married Hurley and they ran a pub/shop with in Johnstown. Norah mother I think was Mary Sheehy of Gloonbrach, Cork and had a brother call Jerome Sheehy who married Margret Fitzpatric and their children Hughie, Kitty and Maurice and my Mother says she remembers Maurice coming to the farm with an empty bottle and she and mary etc would go and get it filled(beer) at the local.
Sorry for the long list, but I would appreciate any information on any of the above, any history of the area etc, as I live in stoke on trent, England where Kitty and Nancy moved to over 50 years ago.
Thank you very much. John Melia jgmelia@yahoo.co.uk

William Margaret Barrett
Hello, My Great Grandparents were William & Margaret Barrett from Reenascreena. I see from the article on the windows in St Peter's church that the window of "St Patrick; in memory of William & Margaret Barrett Glounbrack. The Collins family of Reenascreena PO are descendants of these people." My Grandfather was Daniel Barrett who moved to Douglas. Can anyone help me with this connection? Many thanks, Paul Barrett.

Another O'DR great granddaughter
In a window overlooking a river of headlights on Eighth Avenue this rainy October evening, I appreciate my mother's many references to her grandfather, my great grand. We six Staten Island sisters often heard and came to share her deep admiration for "Jerry O", and for our own Mary Jane Irwin. Thank you for further details about their lives and struggles. I came to this site because my son was looking for his great great grandfather on wikipedia. I'll be returning. Greetings to my far flung cousins in Youghal!

Great-granddaughter of Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa
Your website is a credit to all involved in the Reenascreena Community Online project. The article included about O'DR was a brilliant synopsis of his life and refreshed my own memories of stories recollected by my grandmother and her sisters. Well done! I am a native of Staten Island, NY and live in Youghal Co. Cork with my husband Fergus, sons John and Paul and daughter Niamh. I have been looking for a contact for some time now who would be able to assist me in obtaining club jerseys for O'DR's great-great grandsons in the US. Please contact me at collinsbakery@eircom.net if you have any suggestions. Many Thanks!
